Words of Welcome from the Headmaster

Dear visitors of our homepage,

Welcome to Gebrüder-Humboldt-School, Wedel!

GHS – For me, the initials of our school name do not only stand for the brilliant Humboldt brothers, who were leading figures in 18th and 19th century Germany and for whom it was so important that every young person finds and develops the diverse skills they are given. For me, the initials also stand for the values that are particularly important to us as a school community: Gesundheit – health, Humanität – humanity, Solidarität – solidarity.

We are constantly developing in the sense of this mission statement. Health – We understand this in a holistic way, i.e. physical, mental, spiritual, social and ecological well-being. We are convinced: Only a person who feels comfortable can and will achieve substantial and sustainable performance. Humanity - For us, people are always more important as the human beings they are than the performance they achieve. It is therefore our goal to perceive and support our students as individuals. Solidarity - In a community where everyone treats each other with respect and appreciation, people grow up to become healthy and strong human beings.

I cordially invite you to look around on our homepage and discover Gebrüder-Humboldt-School, the comprehensive school in the city of Wedel for students from years 5 to 13, the school that provides all school leaving exams from the first general school-leaving certificate up to the Abitur, which gives access to universities!
